Week 3 – Project Start: Sew Your Own Basic Tote Bag
Project: Begin a basic tote bag project from scratch
Date: May 9th

Class Description:
Week 3 marks the start of our first guided project! Each participant will create their own basic tote bag using a pre-prepared kit, provided by me. This session will focus on understanding the pattern, cutting out fabric, and starting construction.
This class is ideal for anyone who has completed our intro session—or anyone who wants to try a fun and practical sewing project in a relaxed, friendly environment
What You’ll Learn:
Reading and understanding a beginner-friendly sewing pattern
Cutting fabric and stabiliser accurately
Constructing the main body of a tote bag
Sewing straight seams with confidence
What to Bring:
Your sewing machine
Basic sewing kit (pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)
Matching cotton thread
All materials for the tote bag will be provided.
Next Steps:
This is the 3rd of 4 dedicated to completing the tote bag. In Week 4, we’ll add the lining, boxed bottom, straps, and finishing touches.
